Aquatec Maxcon (AQM) provided all mechanical and electrical/control works for the complete upgrade of the Gympie Filtration Plant (total six filter cells), comprising the following main elements:

  • Removal and disposal of existing mono sand filter media, backwash troughs and underdrains.
  • Installation of new AQM filter lateral underdrain systems, suitable for air scour and water backwash.
  • Installation of new filter gullet wall extensions and stainless steel backwash troughs.
  • Installation and conditioning for service new dual filter media.
  • New air scour and compressed air systems.
  • Modification of existing filter gallery and installation of new stainless steel piping sections and automated filter control valves.
  • Filter head loss instrumentation
  • Filtered water on line analysers for turbidity.
  • Filter-to-waste system
  • Electrical and control works complete.
