Problems:

As part of Brisbane Water's emergency drought management measures, supplementary water supply sources were sought. 

Solutions:

Upgrade and bring the existing Enoggera WTP (previously DAF/slow sand filtration technology back into service.

Aquatec Maxcon provided all civil, mechanical and electrical/control works for the complete upgrade of the Enoggera Water Treatment Plant which comprised of the following main elements:

  • Pre treatment chemical dosing systems for caustic soda, alum and polymer (coagulant aid)
  • Dissolved air flotation (DAF) upgrade equipment including float skimmers, float spray bars, recycle pumping, air saturation and dispersion equipment
  • Flow balance tank and filter feed pumps
  • Pressure filtration equipment (self backwashing design) including automated control valving and monitoring instrumentation.
  • Post treatment chemical dosing including post caustic soda and chloramination (disinfection).
  • Treated water storage tank and pump station to Brisbane Water water mains.
  • Wastewater handling system including washwater holding tank and transfer facilities.
  • Electrical and control works complete.
