Dissolved Air Flotation Filtration

Process Type
Capacity

The Aquatec Maxcon Dissolved Air Flotation Filtration (DAFF) system is a robust and proven water treatment solution designed to treat challenging raw water sources with high colour, algal content, and moderate turbidity. Backed by over 40 years of experience in Australia and globally, Aquatec Maxcon delivers reliable, high-performance systems tailored to local water conditions.

Key Features

  • Australian-designed and manufactured technology with a strong track record across municipal and industrial water treatment applications.
  • Highly effective removal of algae, colour, and suspended solids, delivering consistently high-quality drinking water.
  • Compact footprint through integration of flotation and filtration processes within a single system, reducing overall plant size.
  • Flexible design options including packaged or non-packaged systems, with construction in stainless steel or concrete to suit site requirements.
  • Fully automated operation with simple controls, minimising operator intervention and ensuring reliable performance.
  • Robust and adaptable process capable of handling variable raw water conditions, particularly during algal blooms and high colour events.
  • Reduced energy and chemical consumption compared to alternative technologies such as membrane systems.
  • Easy installation and low maintenance requirements, delivering long-term operational efficiency and value for money.

DAFF Process

The DAFF process operates by recycling a portion of treated water, saturating it with air under pressure, and reintroducing it into the contact zone to float particles to the surface. The floated solids are mechanically removed, while clarified water is collected and filtered, producing excellent treated water quality.
